- Provision of Executive Officer support and policy development to Ministerial Council Sub-committees;
- Chairmanship of review panels for government;
- National Weed Strategy implementation across all states and territories, including development of weed risk assessment methodology and identification and endorsement of the 20 weeds of National Significance;
- Development, publication and endorsement of 20 Weeds of National Significance strategies, with follow-up implementation monitoring and evaluation;
- Publication of The Determination of Weeds of National Significance, J R Thorp and R Lynch (2000), National Weeds Strategy Executive Committee;
- Development of National Weed Management Training Competencies;
- Development of policies, strategies and legislation for government;
- Management of R&D programs, including evaluation and technology transfer;
- Development of policies, strategies and legislation for government;
- Conduct reviews of weed strategies and advise jurisdiction at all levels on policy, implementation and evaluation of weed management strategies and programmes;
- Compile best practice and other extension aids as tools for use by landholders;;
- Adapt research results into on the ground recommendations and advisory programs.
